Frank McEvoy receives Energize Award! 2007 Energize Workshop & Recreation Volunteer Recognition Awards The Energize workshop was held in conjunction with the ARPA annual conference, that took place October 25 to 27, 2007 at the Chateau Lake Louise. The Recreation Volunteer Recognition Awards were presented at the Energize Workshop to four Albertans, who have, through their involvement and dedication, advanced the development of recreation in Alberta. The Awards are sponsored by Alberta Tourism, Parks, Recreation and Culture and the ASRPWF and the selections are made by the volunteer Energize Advisory Committee from nominations that are received. Congratulations to the 2007 recipients - Doug Basset of Elk Point; Norm Campion of Three Hills; Frank McEvoy of Airdrie; and Joyce Patten of High River. The Heritage Junior Hockey League consists of 16 teams in two divisions, with eight teams in each of the South, and North divisions. Teams are situated in central and southern Alberta, Canada. Teams vary in localle from just south of Edmonton, to as far south as Claresholm and east to Medicine Hat and west to Banff. Open Tryout Camp Airdrie Twin Arena Sept. 8th to Sept. 14th, 2008 Cost is $75.00; Must be paid before any ice sessions! Mon. Sept. 8, @ 6:30pm to 8:00pm; Registration in the Arena lobby ..... Ice Times ..... Mon. Sept. 8, @ 8:00pm to 9:15pm Tues. Sept. 9, @ 9:00pm to 10:15pm Thur. Sept. 11, @ 9:00pm to 10:15pm Fri. Sept. 12, @ 9:00pm to 10:15pm Sat. Sept. 13, @ 1:00pm to 2:15pm (Gold Arena) Sun. Sept. 14, @ 3:00pm to 5:15pm (Annual Red & White Game!) Note: Regular Tuesday and Thursday practices and Exhibition series to follow! ** This tournament is set up for conditioning purposes. Anyone wanting to get themselves back into shape for the upcoming season will benefit. ** The tournament is set up to accomodate anywhere from 60 to 150 players; players should be 16 to 20 years old! ** Teams will consist of approximately 8 to 10 players as determined by the Committee. (One goalie; three defencemen and six forwards). The teams wil be assembled using ages, players position and experience to hopefully balance all teams equally. ** The tournament will be a "Round Robin" set-up with playoffs and at least five games guaranteed. A minimum of 60 players must be registered by the deadline date of Aug. 13th, 2008. It would be a great help if a firm commitment is made by the registrants before this date to ensure that the tournament will be held! ** All players MUST be registered and their ice fees paid in full on or before Aug. 13th |
